The Fazio’s lived in New Jersey overlooking the Hudson River and the skyline of New York City where Ryan worked 60-80 hours a week to pay for their seemingly never-ending expenses. With one child already and another on the way, a change was necessary and his partner through out the idea of living in a school bus while living inside the burrows of New York City. Ryan needed some convincing, but she didn’t quit, doing all the research, budgeting and showing what would be possible with this new life. So like all good men, Ryan committed to the dream and soon they were the proud owners of a school bus and after a quick and dirty outfitting of the rig, they were soon living on the bus on the street.
In this episode, Ryan shares stories from his adventures learning the ways of bus life inside of one of the world’s busiest cities. For example how they never received a single parking ticket, how he eventually learned to take water from the hydrants and power straight off the poles and most importantly how the community embraced their family in all parts of the city.
The Fazio’s now live in Boulder, CO but if you’re interested in what their journey was like, check out Gypscity on Instagram.
